Job Requirements
- Must have the flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays at multiple sites
- Obtain and maintain CPR/First Aid certification
- Ability to lift at least 50 pounds
- Ability to pass pre-employment physical exam
- Ability to pass post-offer Tuberculosis clearances
- Regular and prompt attendance required
- Maintains and executes confidential information according to HIPAA standards
- Respond in a timely manner to communication with team members, participants, and partners
- Experience dealing with substance abuse, mental health, and crisis intervention desired
Job Qualifications
- Experience working with formerly homeless populations with mental health and substance abuse issues
- Ability to provide crisis intervention services
- Strong advocacy and case management skills
- Proficiency in written and verbal communication
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent organizational and follow-through skills
- Effective problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Empathy and non-judgmental attitude towards individuals who have recently experienced homelessness
- High tolerance and understanding for individuals with mental and physical health needs
- Fluency in Spanish and English considered an advantage
Job Duties
- Be a welcoming presence onsite for tenants to engage with, by answering questions and providing information during evening and weekend hours
- Coordinate with onsite service staff regarding tenants needing after-hours monitoring or assistance
- Support after-hours programming, tours, and participant events
- Identify tenants with severe mental health symptoms and contact Psychiatric Medical Response Team if behavior is harmful
- Use harm reduction and trauma-informed care approach to support tenants and establish relationships
- Serve as a mediator in conflicts and de-escalate anxious or aggressive tenants
- Monitor cameras and respond promptly to participant health and safety concerns
- Contact emergency services and notify appropriate personnel during emergencies
- Maintain daily reports documenting incidents in the HMIS/Champ database and report to Property Management and Service team
- Be familiar with building lease agreements and house rules
- Attend regular team meetings and trainings as scheduled
- Provide schedule and site location flexibility to work at multiple sites and attend monthly meetings
- Work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required
- Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisor
