Job Requirements

  • At least 6 years progressive experience in hotel or related field
  • or a 4-year college degree and 4 to 5 years related experience
  • or a 2-year college degree and 5 to 6 years related experience
  • Proficient in Windows operating systems, company-approved spreadsheets and word processing
  • Valid driver’s license for applicable state
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Effective speaking, reading and writing skills
  • Ability to work well in high pressure situations
  • Ability to maintain composure and objectivity under pressure
  • Ability to handle workplace problems effectively
  • Ability to assimilate complex information

Job Duties

  • Approach all encounters with guests and employees in an attentive, friendly, courteous and service oriented manner
  • Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, including compliance with company dress code and wearing a name tag
  • Comply with and ensure adherence to company standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient hotel operations
  • Assist in creation and implementation of annual budget plans and monitor hotel performance
  • Play a pivotal role in hotel sales efforts by calling on top accounts, meeting clients, and hosting events
  • Tour operating departments daily, making adjustments as needed through department heads
  • Conduct weekly staff meetings including training sessions to review sales and operations efforts
  • Hold monthly financial reviews with department managers and conduct timely financial calls
  • Ensure training in service standards is conducted in departments
  • Assist in creating a positive team-oriented environment focused on guest satisfaction
  • Complete regular property visits and provide trip reports
  • Inspect rooms weekly with housekeeping and engineering managers
  • Ensure timely submission of financial documents to corporate office
  • Oversee cleanliness and maintenance through inspections and preventive maintenance
  • Motivate, coach, counsel and discipline management personnel according to company policies
  • Meet sales clients and guests in public areas, offering assistance
  • Maintain hotel safe procedures and initiate monthly safe audits
  • Conduct bi-monthly credit meetings and enforce credit and collection policies
  • Complete required corporate training modules and certify others as needed
  • Ensure all scheduled meetings take place on property
