Job Requirements

  • Less than high school diploma
  • basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division
  • effective communication skills
  • ability to read and interpret safety rules and procedure manuals
  • ability to write routine reports and correspondence
  • basic computer proficiency
  • ability to handle cash transactions accurately
  • ability to stand, walk, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds
  • able to work morning and evening shifts
  • attention to detail and high degree of integrity
  • ability to handle guest inquiries and complaints
  • willingness to maintain cleanliness of front desk and lobby areas

  • ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization

  • ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations

Job Duties

  • Greet, register, and assign rooms to guests
  • handle confidential information, including guest records, with a high degree of integrity
  • promptly and effectively deal with guest requests and complaints
  • answer and route calls as appropriate
  • take guest messages with accuracy
  • manage cash drawer contents and transactions during shift
  • maintain accurate records including cash flows, registration cards, reservation cards, and property walks
  • answer inquiries pertaining to hotel services, registration of guests, and travel directions
  • assist with sales and marketing efforts as directed by the General Manager
  • offer and properly handle requests for wake-up calls
  • record pertinent guest information in the pass on log
  • ensure front desk, lobby and common areas are clean and organized
  • perform laundry functions as directed
  • perform all other duties as assigned
