Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree
- Minimum 2 years related student housing and residence life experience in a college or university setting
- Availability for duty and rotating on-call service during weekends, alternate shifts, various days of the week, and some holidays
- Ability to live in residence hall location either on or off campus as assigned
- Capability to operate a personal computer and basic office equipment
- Physical ability to move furniture, equipment, climb stairs, and participate in facility operations requiring physical strength
Job Qualifications
- A Bachelor’s degree
- 2 years of related student housing and residence life experience working with students in a college or university campus setting
- Experience in staff supervision and development
- Strong communication and crisis management skills
- Ability to coordinate with multiple university departments and external agencies
- Knowledge of housing regulations and student conduct policies
Job Duties
- Ensure all housing regulations designed to protect the residence hall against fire, theft or vandalism are properly enforced
- Coordinate with University Police, Student Health Services, local emergency medical services to ensure all emergency situations that threaten residence hall residents receive appropriate response
- Distribute mail, memorandum, information bulletins and telephone call notices to all students residing in the residence hall
- Assist in the process for staff selection and training for Resident Assistants
- Work closely with the Assistant Director of Housing and Residential Life and the Housing Leadership Team to create residential environments that demonstrate inclusive excellence, promote academic success, and enhance student retention
- Manage the day-to-day operation of assigned residence hall community and provide adult supervision and crisis intervention
- Support and attend student-sponsored events and activities with the residential community
