Job Requirements

  • Full-time student status with a minimum of 12 units at an accredited institution
  • Enrollment in a declared STEM curriculum
  • Ability to perform essential job functions with or without accommodation
  • Must be able to commute to SMUD offices in Sacramento, CA when required
  • No relatives employed at SMUD
  • Maintain at least a 2.0 GPA
  • No employer sponsorship required now or in the future

Job Qualifications

  • Enrollment as a full-time student in a STEM program at an accredited college or university
  • Strong communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite
  • Experience with data analytics
  • Completion of relevant coursework including English writing and introductory engineering classes up to first calculus
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Analytical and independent research skills

Job Duties

  • Perform research and analytical tasks for projects and assignments utilizing academic skills
  • Locate sources of information and collect and organize data
  • Make computations and analyze data for confidence and alternative actions
  • Develop computer programs or code material for assignments
  • Prepare written, graphical, and oral reports
  • Assist staff analysts and technical personnel under close supervision
  • Support experiments, demonstrations, and pilot programs to advance technical capabilities
