Job Requirements
- Be a full-time student enrolled in a STEM curriculum with minimum of 12 units
- Maintain at least a 2.0 GPA
- Be able to commute to SMUD offices in Sacramento, CA when requested
- Have no relatives currently working at SMUD
- Not require employer sponsorship now or in the future
- Be legally eligible to work in the United States
- Ability to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation
Job Qualifications
- Full-time enrollment at an accredited college or university with a declared curriculum in science, technology, engineering or mathematics
- Strong communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite
- Knowledge of data analytics
- Completion of an English writing class
- Completion of initial engineering classes including at least the first calculus course
Job Duties
- Perform tasks of an analytical or research nature for projects aligned with academic skills and knowledge in science, technology, engineering or math
- Locate sources of information, collect and organize data
- Make computations and analyze data to assess confidence levels and explore alternative courses of action
- Develop computer programs and code material as needed for assignments
- Create written, graphical, and/or oral reports to present findings
- Assist staff analysts and technical personnel by performing elements of their work under supervision
