Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- At least two years of work experience in a commercial kitchen or vocational training relevant to food preparation and industrial cleaning
- Must obtain or possess Alaska Food Workers Card and/or ServSafe Certification upon hire
- Must pass all pre-employment contract requirements including drug test, physical and fitness assessments, and hearing test
- Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment
- Capability to make decisions independently
- Ability to stand for 12-hour shifts
- Must reside in dormitory style accommodations and meet cleanliness requirements
- Contract requires fluency in English
- Must comply with all company and client safety guidelines
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Minimum two years’ experience in a commercial kitchen or vocational training in industrial cleaning and food preparation
- Possession or ability to obtain Alaska Food Workers Card or ServSafe Certification
- Ability to pass pre-employment requirements including drug test, physical fitness, and hearing tests
- Effective team cooperation and communication skills
- Ability to make autonomous decisions
- Physical capability to stand and work for long shifts
- Willingness to live in dormitory-style housing and comply with cleanliness standards
- Proficiency in English reading, writing, speaking, and understanding
- Commitment to adhere to safety guidelines and regulations
Job Duties
- Perform main line food production duties with specific items assigned per shift
- Review daily production needs with supervisors and complete necessary documentation
- Assist supervisors in menu and recipe development
- Monitor and replenish salad bar and pantry items using proper rotation
- Cook various food items including breakfast, lunch, dinner, and tray items
- Prepare, present, and restock bulk fresh vegetables, salads, and accompanying items
- Utilize production sheets to manage serving area quantities
- Employ a variety of food preparation techniques and equipment
- Assist with special food preparation and cleaning projects
- Serve in the service line as needed
- Rotate food items according to safety and quality standards
- Clean and sanitize preparation areas and equipment
- Verify and maintain food serving lines and bars ensuring proper stock and cleanliness
- Handle special duties such as setup and breakdown of serving areas
- Communicate meal needs and menu announcements with supervisors
- Manage freight organization
- Supervise and train food service staff, ensuring compliance with safety and sanitation standards
- Maintain food production equipment and storage areas
- Report non-compliance with safety and sanitation standards to supervisor
- Perform other duties relevant to departmental success
