Job Requirements
- College degree preferred
- One year supervisory experience preferred
- Experience in dementia care preferred
- Knowledge of hiring, coaching, counseling, and performance management
- Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office and Sunrise applications
- Ability to work weekends, evenings, and flexible hours
- Compliance with state or provincial regulatory requirements
- Completion of drug test, tuberculosis test, physical evaluation, and background check
- COVID-19 and Influenza vaccinations if mandated
- Driver's job description review and understanding if applicable
Job Qualifications
- College degree preferred
- Supervisory experience of at least one year including dementia care preferred
- Experience in hiring, coaching, counseling, and performance management
- Knowledge of computer applications including Microsoft Office and Sunrise systems
- Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and evenings
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Knowledge of state or provincial requirements for supervisory roles
- Familiarity with Alzheimer’s disease and dementia care
- Demonstrated leadership and team development ability
- Commitment to resident-centered care
- Experience facilitating family support and engagement programs
- Ability to handle multiple priorities and delegate effectively
Job Duties
- Plan, organize, develop, and lead the reminiscence neighborhood operations in compliance with all relevant laws and Sunrise standards
- Champion resident-centered care models and reminiscence programming
- Partner with Activities and Volunteer Coordinators to facilitate individualized activities
- Lead the design and scheduling of reminiscence programs with dementia-appropriate life skills activities
- Collaborate with Resident Care Director to meet clinical and care needs
- Conduct family meetings and develop individualized service plans
- Manage staffing, scheduling, and performance of reminiscence team members
- Ensure regulatory compliance and implement corrective actions
- Oversee department budget and financial management
- Recruit, hire, train, and coach team members
- Facilitate continuing education and promote team member engagement
- Maintain cooperative relationships with Alzheimer's associations and community resources
- Organize family support groups and educational events
- Monitor resident conditions and communicate with families
- Participate in dining experience and resident care coordination
- Maintain safety procedures and compliance with occupational health and safety laws
- Attend internal meetings and stay current with professional development
- Complete performance appraisals and enforce accountability
- Perform other duties as assigned
