Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or equivalent preferred but not required
  • six months of related housekeeping experience
  • availability to work rotating 8-hour shifts on days, evenings, and nights including weekends and holidays
  • ability to handle physical demands of the role such as lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods
  • ability to follow strict infection control and safety protocols
  • effective communication skills
  • ability to pass competency checks
  • willingness to work on call scheduling without guaranteed hours or benefits

Job Qualifications

  • six months of related housekeeping experience
  • strong business communication skills including ability to read and follow written and oral instructions
  • ability to prioritize work assignments and use time efficiently
  • able to complete in-service orientation and continuing education training programs
  • observe and practice standard precautions and hospital safety regulations
  • capable of learning and practicing aseptic cleaning techniques and isolation cleaning procedures

Job Duties

  • provide for the cleanliness, sanitation of surfaces, handling and disposal of solid and biohazardous waste
  • perform floor care including dust mopping, wet mopping, vacuuming, buffing and spot/spillage removal
  • clean patient rooms, non-patient rooms, restrooms and general areas, including restocking supplies
  • execute specialized cleaning in isolation or contaminated areas and assist with emergency cleanups
  • maintain furniture and wall care through washing, polishing, dusting and washing
  • manage waste removal including regular and biohazardous materials and compacted boxes
  • report minor repairs needed and maintain equipment, supplies, and materials by proper storage and cleaning
