Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- more than 3 years customs brokerage operations experience
- demonstrated ability to release complex entries and solve problems
- knowledge of various entry types and ISF filing
- familiarity with regulatory agencies and customs rulings
- ability to prioritize work according to client demands and customs requirements
- excellent time management skills
- fast and accurate keyboarding skills
- professional communication skills in English via email and phone
- ability to multitask and keep track of priorities and ETAs
- proficiency with MS Office and business technology
- able to perform basic math calculations
- able to work some statutory holidays and off shifts
- able to work under deadlines and stress
- able to maintain accuracy and focus
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- more than 3 years customs brokerage operations experience
- demonstrated ability to release complex customs entries
- ability to complete a variety of entry types and processes
- knowledge of Harmonized Tariff Schedule
- familiarity with FDA, EPA, NHTSA, USDA, APHIS regulations
- strong communication skills in English
- proficient in MS Office and standard office equipment
- ability to multitask and prioritize
- excellent attention to detail
- strong interpersonal skills
- able to work independently and as part of a team
- basic mathematical skills
Job Duties
- Receive and review documents for completeness
- accurately enter required information into database system to prepare documentation for entry
- ensure entries are filed on time and freight is delivered timely
- process client invoices and maintain relationships with clients, carriers, and customs
- respond to calls and questions from internal and external sources
- trace shipments and set up pre-arrivals with Customs
- research, resolve and communicate operational or entry problems
- upload electronic manifest data and FDA prior notification
- manage internal and external reports
- advise departments of client database updates
- track and follow up daily to ensure timely cargo movement
- arrange Customs exams for clients
- provide status updates and maintain excellent customer relationships
- work closely with other departments to deliver high-level customer service
