Job Requirements
- high school diploma or equivalent
- 1-3 years of customer service experience
- proficiency in MS Office
- ability to maintain confidentiality
- strong communication skills
- ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- detail-oriented and organized
- able to balance speed and accuracy
- capable of operating office equipment and computer systems
- willingness to work three shifts per week including rotating weekends
- able to perform repetitive motions and prolonged sitting at a computer terminal
- capable of handling stress associated with public interaction in a medical environment
Job Qualifications
- high school diploma or equivalent
- 1-3 years of customer service experience in a medical practice or retail environment
- proficiency in MS Office programs such as Word, Excel, and SharePoint
- experience with Experity and/or When2Work preferred but not required
- strong interpersonal and communication skills
- ability to maintain confidentiality
- organized with attention to detail
- calm under pressure and able to handle various types of patient engagement
- good judgment, initiative, and patient interaction skills
Job Duties
- greet patients in a positive and helpful manner
- provide information and assistance as needed
- obtain accurate demographic and insurance information and verify insurance coverage for all patients
- use the computer system to generate fee slips, review information for accuracy and instructions
- provide necessary forms to patients for completion and ensure all registration fields are filled and scanned into patient charts
- keep patients informed of their account information
- notify staff when patients are ready to be seen
- collect payments, insurance co-pays, and PDRX charges
- coordinate patient care or records with other clinic locations when necessary
- gather reports from referrals and prior authorizations
- be familiar with all locations, hours, and directions
- answer telephone calls, record, and deliver messages
- perform photocopying, faxing, and filing of forms, reports, and patient information
- maintain logs of daily activities including patient count and financial transactions
- audit and balance all financial transactions for accurate daily deposits
- distribute mail
- maintain an adequate level of office supplies and forms
- provide positive team support for all personnel and departments
