Job Description

The University of Oregon's Continuing and Professional Education (CPE) department serves as a vital connection between the institution and the broader regional communities. As a self-supporting and fee-based division, CPE offers a diverse range of learning opportunities outside of the traditional university environment. Job Requirements

  • Two years of general clerical experience
  • One year of typing, word processing, or document generation experience
  • Associate's degree in office occupations or office technology preferred
  • Ability to communicate effectively
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office and database proficiency
  • Commitment to confidentiality
  • Ability to provide excellent customer service in a fast-paced environment
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks on varying timelines

Job Qualifications

  • Associate's degree or equivalent experience in office occupations or technology
  • Two years of general clerical experience including typing and word processing
  • Strong computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office and database management
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
  • Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize workload efficiently
  • Experience providing high-quality customer service
  • Leadership or supervisory experience is preferred

Job Duties

  • Serve as the primary reception staff at the Baker Downtown Center delivering professional and welcoming customer service
  • Process registrations and payments accurately and efficiently using the CE proprietary database
  • Respond to participant inquiries providing timely and detailed program information
  • Support scheduling assistance, communication, committee support, and administrative follow-through for various CE programs
  • Assist in creating and distributing marketing materials collaborating with the creative services team
  • Hire, train, and supervise 2-4 front office student employees ensuring high-quality service
  • Provide broad administrative support to maintain smooth daily operations across CE sub-unit
