Job Requirements

  • rvt license or eligibility within 3 months
  • 3 plus years veterinary clinical experience
  • degree from avma-accredited program preferred
  • knowledge of industry tools and equipment
  • passion for working with large and small animals
  • experience with proper animal handling and restraint
  • ability to perform nursing care in hospital or ranch setting
  • understanding of animal behavior and healthcare
  • excellent communication and organizational skills
  • dental procedure experience
  • skilled in iv catheter placement and bandaging
  • anesthesia monitoring and surgical experience
  • laboratory skills including cytology
  • diagnostic experience including radiology and ultrasound
  • compliance with all duties allowable by law

Job Qualifications

  • registered veterinary technician (RVT) in New Mexico or eligible to transfer/acquire state license within 3 months
  • minimum 3 years veterinary clinical experience as a technician or assistant
  • degree from an AVMA-accredited Veterinary Technology program preferred
  • knowledge of veterinary tools and equipment
  • skilled in animal handling and restraint for multiple species
  • experience with anesthesia and surgical support
  • dental procedure skills
  • proficiency in laboratory and diagnostic techniques
  • strong communication and organizational skills

Job Duties

  • perform nursing care and animal handling
  • assist with anesthesia monitoring and surgical procedures including intubation and post-operative care
  • conduct dental procedures such as scaling, polishing, extractions, and suturing
  • utilize diagnostic tools including digital radiology, dental radiology, and ultrasound-guided cystocentesis
  • manage laboratory tasks including cytology setup and interpretation
  • apply casts, bandages, and splints
  • communicate effectively with clients and assist veterinarians in emergency care
