Job Requirements
- licensed or eligible to obtain rvt license in new mexico within 3 months
- at least 3 years veterinary clinical experience
- degree from an avma-accredited program preferred
- experience with animal restraint and nursing care
- knowledge of anesthesia monitoring and surgical assistance
- ability to perform diagnostic imaging and laboratory procedures
- passion for working with diverse animal species
- excellent communication skills
Job Qualifications
- registered veterinary technician (rvt) in new mexico or eligible for licensure transfer
- minimum 3 years of clinical veterinary experience
- degree from an avma-accredited veterinary technology program preferred
- knowledge of veterinary tools and equipment
- skilled in animal handling and restraint for multiple species
- solid understanding of animal behavior and healthcare
- strong communication and organizational abilities
- experience with dental procedures and surgical support
- laboratory and diagnostic imaging proficiency
Job Duties
- perform nursing care for small and large animals
- assist with dental procedures including scaling, polishing, extractions, and suturing
- place intravenous and urinary catheters
- apply casts, bandages, and splints
- monitor anesthesia during surgical procedures including intubation and pre/post-operative care
- conduct laboratory work such as cytology setup and interpretation
- perform diagnostic imaging including digital and dental radiology and ultrasound-guided cystocentesis
