Job Requirements
- 12 months recent tractor trailer experience
- CDL-A with hazmat and tanker endorsements
- TWIC card and passport preferred
- Must meet Highway Transport’s MVR requirements
- Regional driver must live within 45 miles of the Freeport, TX service center
- OTR driver must live within 100 miles of Freeport, TX service center
Job Qualifications
- Valid CDL-A license with hazmat and tanker endorsements
- Minimum of 12 months recent tractor trailer driving experience
- TWIC card and passport preferred
- Ability to meet Highway Transport's motor vehicle record (MVR) requirements
- Strong knowledge of safety regulations and hazardous materials handling
- Effective communication and time management skills
- Ability to work independently and respond to dispatcher instructions
Job Duties
- Operate tractor trailers safely and efficiently transporting hazardous materials
- Ensure compliance with all safety and regulatory requirements including HazMat and tanker endorsements
- Maintain communication with dispatch and adhere to scheduled routes and delivery times
- Perform pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections of the vehicle
- Accurately complete required paperwork and documentation for trips and deliveries
- Manage detention periods effectively, ensuring timely deliveries and utilizing detention pay benefits
- Maintain assigned tractors in good working condition and report any maintenance needs
