Job Requirements

  • 12 months recent tractor trailer experience
  • CDL-A with hazmat and tanker endorsements
  • TWIC card and passport preferred
  • Must meet Highway Transport’s MVR requirements
  • Regional driver must live within 45 miles of the Freeport, TX service center
  • OTR driver must live within 100 miles of Freeport, TX service center

Job Qualifications

  • Valid CDL-A license with hazmat and tanker endorsements
  • Minimum of 12 months recent tractor trailer driving experience
  • TWIC card and passport preferred
  • Ability to meet Highway Transport's motor vehicle record (MVR) requirements
  • Strong knowledge of safety regulations and hazardous materials handling
  • Effective communication and time management skills
  • Ability to work independently and respond to dispatcher instructions

Job Duties

  • Operate tractor trailers safely and efficiently transporting hazardous materials
  • Ensure compliance with all safety and regulatory requirements including HazMat and tanker endorsements
  • Maintain communication with dispatch and adhere to scheduled routes and delivery times
  • Perform pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections of the vehicle
  • Accurately complete required paperwork and documentation for trips and deliveries
  • Manage detention periods effectively, ensuring timely deliveries and utilizing detention pay benefits
  • Maintain assigned tractors in good working condition and report any maintenance needs
