Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in safety related field or five years safety experience including two years managerial capacity
  • CPR/First Aid instructor certification
  • safety certifications such as CSP, ASP or ASSE safety management preferred
  • knowledge of Federal, State, and Local safety regulations
  • strong communication and supervisory skills
  • ability to use computers and safety-related software
  • strong analytical and organizational skills
  • thorough knowledge of industrial safety practices
  • ability to perform accident investigations and develop corrective actions
  • capable of conducting safety program audits
  • willingness to act as company representative to regulatory agencies

Job Qualifications

  • ability to analyze and resolve irregular events

  • safety certifications such as CSP, ASP, or ASSE safety management preferred

Job Duties

  • Plan, organize, direct, audit, and control company safety activities
  • identify potential risks by job type and develop plans and training to mitigate hazards
  • communicate safety statistics, strategies and information to management and others
  • review and update new employee safety orientation programs
  • develop emergency action plans and conduct drills
  • act as company representative to regulatory agencies
  • implement policies to comply with government safety regulations
  • perform accident investigations and root cause analysis
  • develop trending reports based on root cause classifications
  • conduct audits of safety programs for compliance
  • develop standard safe work practices
  • assist HR in developing safety parameters for job descriptions
  • other related duties as assigned
