Job Requirements
- Associate's degree or equivalent
- two to five years related experience and/or training
- must have recent flight experience within previous 24 months
- maintain weight not to exceed 250 pounds
- be less than 70 years old
- regular scheduled attendance
- able to travel approximately 10% of the time
- first or second class FAA medical certificate
- commercial and instrument ratings
- meet defined flight hours and experience thresholds
Job Qualifications
- Associate's degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school and two to five years related experience and/or training
- bachelor's degree preferred
- must have flown in category for a commercial operator or military within previous 24 months
- 2000 total flight hours with minimum 1500 in category for VFR
- 1000 hours PIC in category for VFR
- 500 hours rotor wing turbine time for VFR
- 200 hours cross-country flight with at least 50 hours at night for VFR
- 100 hours unaided night as PIC with substitution options
- 50 hours actual or hood instrument time in flight and in category for VFR
- 2500 total flight hours with minimum 2000 in category for IFR
- 1000 hours PIC in category for IFR
- 500 cross-country flight hours and 100 night flight hours for IFR
- 75 hours actual or simulated instrument time with 50 hours in flight and 20 hours actual instrument conditions for IFR
- commercial and instrument rating for category and class
- ATP rating meets requirement
- first or second class FAA medical certificate required
Job Duties
- Operates Air Methods aircraft in a safe and legal manner
- completes pre-flight checks verifying airworthiness by signing off Daily Flight Log
- conducts complete walk-around inspections before and after each flight
- assumes final authority over aircraft operations and passenger safety
- thoroughly familiarizes with all aircraft and medical systems, including backup aircraft
- ensures medical flight teams are comfortable and familiar with medical equipment and interiors
- completes all required flight documentation
- conducts detailed flight planning even with short notice
- participates regularly in company meetings, activities, projects, committees, and community outreach
- performs other duties as assigned
