Job Requirements

  • Associate's degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school
  • two to five years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • maintains weight not to exceed 250 pounds
  • under 70 years of age
  • flown in category for commercial operator or military within previous 24 months
  • holds commercial and instrument ratings
  • holds ATP rating in category
  • holds first or second class FAA medical certificate
  • able to conduct flight planning with little notice
  • regular attendance
  • able to maintain positive interpersonal relationships

Job Qualifications

  • Associate's degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school with related experience
  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • prior flying experience in category for commercial operator or military within the last 24 months
  • maintains positive interpersonal relationships with colleagues, EMS representatives, hospitals, and the public
  • thorough knowledge of Federal Aviation Regulations and Aeronautical Information Manual
  • commercial and instrument rating for category and class of aircraft
  • ATP rating in category meets requirement
  • first or second class FAA medical certificate

Job Duties

  • Operates Air Methods aircraft in a safe and legal manner
  • completes pre-flight inspections and verifies aircraft airworthiness
  • holds final authority over aircraft operations and safety of passengers, cargo, and equipment
  • maintains thorough knowledge of aircraft and medical systems
  • ensures medical flight team’s familiarity with medical interior and systems
  • completes all required documentation
  • conducts detailed flight planning with little notice
  • participates in meetings, activities, projects, committees, and community outreach
  • performs other duties as assigned
