Job Requirements
- Regular scheduled attendance
- must maintain weight not to exceed 250 pounds
- age less than 70 years
- comply with Federal Aviation Regulations and company policies
- maintain valid FAA medical certification
- possess required commercial and instrument pilot ratings
- have current and relevant flight experience in category
- demonstrate ability to perform detailed flight planning
- willing to travel approximately 10 percent of the time
- ability to work full-time
- pass all necessary background checks and screenings
Job Qualifications
- Associate's degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school with two to five years related experience or training
- bachelor's degree preferred
- pilots must have flown in category for a commercial operator or military within previous 24 months
- maintain positive interpersonal relationships with colleagues, EMS representatives, hospitals and the public
- 2000 total flight hours with minimum 1500 flight hours in category for VFR program
- 1000 hours PIC in category
- 500 hours rotor wing turbine time
- 200 hours cross-country flight time with at least 50 hours at night
- 100 hours unaided night as PIC with substitutions allowed for NVG time
- 50 hours total actual or hood instrument time in flight in category
- 2500 total flight hours with minimum 2000 hours in category for IFR program
- 75 hours actual or simulated instrument time at least 50 hours in flight including 20 hours in actual instrument conditions
- commercial and instrument rating for category and class of aircraft
- ATP rating in category meets this requirement
- first or second class FAA medical certificate required
Job Duties
- Operate Air Methods aircraft in a safe and legal manner
- complete pre-flight inspections ensuring aircraft airworthiness
- serve as final authority for aircraft operations and safety of passengers, cargo, and equipment
- maintain familiarity with all aircraft and medical systems
- complete required documentation accurately
- conduct detailed flight planning with little notice
- participate in company meetings, projects, committees, and community outreach
- perform other duties as assigned
