Job Requirements

  • Proven experience as a successful pastry chef
  • 3+ years of experience in a pastry kitchen handling preparation and cooking
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Creative with a problem-solving approach
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Extensive knowledge of food preparation, sanitation principles, baking techniques and nutrition
  • Must be available to work days, nights, weekends and holidays

Job Duties

  • Crafting a dessert menu fitting with the restaurant concept and locale while partnering with the Executive Chef
  • Preparing detailed recipe cards to ensure consistency in dessert preparation
  • Motivating, teaching, and fostering a positive culture among pastry cooks
  • Being receptive to feedback and communicating freely with other chefs to ensure cohesive kitchen operations
  • Maintaining a clean and sanitary workstation adhering to all DHEC regulations
  • Reporting product shortages, equipment problems, or food quality issues to the Executive Chef promptly
  • Participating in scheduled employee meetings and offering suggestions for improvement
  • Ensuring the guest experience remains the number one priority in all activities
