Job Requirements

  • proven experience as successful pastry chef
  • 3+ years experience in pastry kitchen handling preparation and cooking
  • strong attention to detail
  • creative with problem-solving approach
  • strong leadership and communication skills
  • extensive knowledge of food preparation, sanitation principles, baking techniques and nutrition
  • must be available to work days, nights, weekends and holidays

Job Duties

  • craft dessert menu fitting with concept and locale and collaborate with executive chef
  • prepare detailed recipe cards to ensure consistency
  • motivate, teach and maintain positive culture among pastry cooks
  • communicate openly with other chefs and be receptive to feedback
  • maintain clean and sanitary work station adhering to DHEC regulations
  • promptly report product shortages, equipment problems or food quality issues to executive chef
  • participate in employee meetings offering suggestions for improvement
  • prioritize guest experience in all tasks
