Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in STEM-related field
  • 8 years of relevant work experience with Bachelor's degree
  • Master's degree in STEM-related field preferred with 6 years of relevant work experience
  • PhD in a related STEM discipline with 4 years of relevant work experience
  • current active in-scope DoD-issued Secret security clearance at application time
  • professional experience in software development and systems engineering or related disciplines
  • significant experience authoring ICDs, IDDs, and requirements
  • ability to work effectively in a team environment developing software designs and reviewing systems engineering products
  • experience with requirements management tools such as Jama, IBM DOORS, Polarion, and Azure
  • participation in verification and validation planning or execution

  • professional experience in software development and systems engineering or related disciplines
  • significant experience in authoring ICDs, IDDs, and requirements
  • ability to work effectively as part of a team developing software designs and reviewing systems engineering artifacts
  • experience with requirements management tools such as Jama, IBM DOORS, Polarion, Azure
  • participation in verification and validation planning or execution including test plan creation, testcase management, defect tracking
  • strong written and oral communication skills with technical and non-technical audiences
  • significant experience leading teams
  • preferred Master’s degree in Systems Engineering
  • INCOSE Certified Systems Engineering Professional (CSEP) certification
  • Object Management Group Certified Systems Modeling Professional - Model Builder Fundamental (OCSMP - MBF) certification
  • experience as technical lead or software development lead in missile defense, space, or Link 16 domain
  • experience working in integrated, cross-disciplinary teams
  • experience identifying and defining system capabilities and documenting them
  • experience developing system engineering and architecture artifacts
  • experience preparing briefings and presenting at DoD customer design reviews
  • DoD systems engineering or software development technical leadership
  • familiarity with private cloud and IT technologies like VMWare/Nutanix, RedHat, and network solutions
  • knowledge of software development and Java applications
  • knowledge of DevSecOps and digital engineering transformation methodologies
  • knowledge of Agile development and Scrum
  • familiarity with MBSE tools such as Cameo
  • familiarity with requirements management tools like DOORS
  • knowledge of missile defense systems such as GMD, Aegis, THAAD, IBCS, space systems, or Link 16 domain
  • expertise in requirements engineering and systems architecture
  • skills in requirements elicitation, functional allocation, interface control documents, and SysML/UML fundamentals
  • proficiency in scheduling, task tracking, resource planning, document control, and dashboard creation tools
  • technical writing, presentation design, stakeholder communication, and meeting facilitation

Job Duties

  • Coordinate RA efforts related to software updates within end-to-end systems engineering activities including requirements flow analysis, support verification and validation, and test event efforts
  • offer systems engineering expertise and leadership to ensure a disciplined software development process for defining, developing, and analyzing system capabilities
  • support the flow of requirements (CES, SCN, and PCN) and reviews, communication status, upcoming milestones, and dependencies
  • review support Interface Control Document (ICD), communication status, upcoming milestones, and dependencies
  • support the V&
  • V test plans and assist with coordinating test execution across test labs and cross-functional teams
  • coordinate problem reports with Solution Chiefs, handle customer reviews and releases to lead problem identification, and recommend future solutions
  • assist with staffing duties such as reviewing resumes, conducting interviews, and choosing candidates
  • support the preparation of Basis of Estimates (BOEs), Engineering Estimates (EEs), proposal responses to Request for Proposals (RFPs), and similar activities
  • manage Software Architecture Design Document (SADD) and Functional Architecture Design Document (FADD) content and maintenance
  • coordinate and implement MBSE tools for regional applications
  • support solution leadership in ensuring design documents and artifacts completion
  • identify process gaps, promote best practice adoption such as model-based systems engineering and DevSecOps integration, and facilitate lessons learned capture
  • collaborate with internal stakeholders, government, and customer representatives to support critical daily operations and distributed multi-element deliveries
  • assist management with scheduling and technical aspects including Iteration Planning and Task Order support
