Job Requirements
- must have a TABC certificate
- must have a Food Handlers Certification
- must be able to stand and walk frequently for an eight-hour shift
- able to climb ladders and stairs
- able to kneel
- able to reach overhead
- able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs
- must be able to communicate effectively
- must perform all activities in a professional manner
- must be able to see and read printed material with or without vision aids
- must be able to effectively engage in one-on-one communication with guests and coworkers

- must be able to accurately read instructions, reports, and log sheets
- must be able to work with computers and PDAs in varying light conditions

- must be able to work safely with chemicals according to safety data sheets and regulatory requirements
- must have a flexible work schedule including early mornings, weekends, and holidays
Job Qualifications
- high school education is preferred but not required
- previous barista or cafe experience preferred, hospitality or spa environment a plus
- familiarity with coffee or espresso equipment and smoothie preparation
- friendly, professional demeanor and strong customer service skills
- ability to multitask in a fast-paced, service-oriented environment
- ability to ring tickets on the computerized point of sale system
- ability to accurately and securely manage a cash bank, making change for purchases and performing standardized accounting cash closing procedures
- excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
- fluency in English
- ability to learn food and beverage preparation procedures
- exceptional listening and communication skills
- availability for a flexible work schedule including early mornings, weekends, and holidays
- must exhibit a friendly and professional demeanor with customers and coworkers at all times
- ability to deliver excellent customer service that assures total customer satisfaction
Job Duties
- provides a welcoming greeting to members and guests, informing them about specials or new items, answering questions, and processing orders and payments
- prepares foods such as baked goods, bagging, blending smoothies, brewing coffee and tea, preparing made to order coffees following recipes, and serving items to customers according to order
- ensures consistency with quality and presentation in the drinks made
- cleans and restocks work and dining areas, empties trash and sanitizes equipment and utensils
- updates signage and displays
- takes inventory and replenishes items in display coolers and behind the counter
- adheres to all food safety regulations and quality controls
