Job Requirements

  • Valid driver's license
  • CPR/First Aid certification within six months of employment
  • availability to work flexible hours including weekends, holidays, and special events
  • ability to supervise and manage personnel
  • experience in recreational program planning and evaluation
  • excellent communication skills
  • ability to manage budgets and handle cash transactions
  • proficiency with administrative tasks and reporting
  • knowledge of safety protocols and facility security
  • strong organizational and multitasking skills

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Recreation, Parks Management, Public Administration, or related field preferred
  • experience in program planning and facility management
  • leadership and supervisory experience
  • knowledge of community recreational programming
  • strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • ability to handle budget and administrative duties
  • CPR and First Aid certification preferred or required within six months of employment
  • valid driver's license
  • proficiency in Microsoft Office and program management software
  • customer service experience
  • ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays

Job Duties

  • Plans, implements, and evaluates recreational programs at community centers
  • manages the overall operations of community centers and supervises personnel
  • handles business and cash transactions
  • attends workshops to enhance skills and generate ideas for events
  • works on planning committees for city-wide activities and assists in their implementation
  • monitors the budget and evaluates program effectiveness
  • delivers supplies and interprets departmental policies
  • trains, schedules, and conducts performance evaluations for staff
  • interacts with citizens by greeting customers and handling inquiries
  • compiles and reviews reports and schedules
  • plans and promotes special events including city-wide ceremonies
  • organizes logistics for events such as setting up stages, tents, and audio equipment
  • manages staff work schedules, field trips, assignments, and training
  • ensures safety and security of facilities during operations
