Job Requirements

  • must have a current valid class C driver's license from the Texas Department of Public Safety with a satisfactory driving record
  • must obtain CPR/first aid certification within 60 days of hire
  • pursuing high school diploma, GED or equivalency
  • no experience required, preferred some professional work experience in the parks and recreation field or equivalent

Job Duties

  • perform indoor, outdoor, arts and crafts, educational, low organized programs and activities for youth 6-17 years of age
  • oversee and maintain assigned facility and park
  • deal with the general public and maintain safety of members, public and staff
  • maintain a high profile in the community
  • supervise participants in recreation and education activities
  • prepare and organize registrations, supplies and special events
  • maintain facilities and monitor park and buildings for safety
