Job Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Parks & Recreation or related field
- two years of relevant professional experience
- valid driver's license
- ability to work nights and weekends
- physical ability to perform light lifting of 5-10 pounds
- capability of extended periods at a keyboard or work station
- ability to communicate orally
- work in non-adverse environmental conditions

- experience supervising and directing staff
- knowledge of program planning and implementation

Job Duties
- Supervises, directs, and evaluates assigned staff
- processes employee concerns and problems
- directs work and assigns tasks
- counsels and disciplines staff
- completes employee performance appraisals
- coordinates daily work activities
- organizes, prioritizes, and assigns work
- creates and distributes staff schedules
- ensures adequate staffing for programs and events
- monitors status of work in progress and inspects completed work
- consults with assigned staff
- assists with complex and problem situations
- provides technical expertise
- trains staff in operational policies and procedures
- plans, implements, and coordinates diversified recreation and sports programs
- develops program services and activities
- schedules classes, leagues, events and programs
- reserves facilities and schedules grounds use
- coordinates and supervises instructors, staff, and volunteers
- provides information and direction
- processes participant registrations
- manages programs according to local, state and federal guidelines
- coordinates facility and grounds use
- maintains master calendar
- schedules facility rentals
- prepares for scheduled events
- sets-up meeting rooms
- decorates for special events
- maintains related documentation
- develops and implements budget
- monitors expenditures
- assists in obtaining and monitoring use of granted funds
- maintains inventories of supplies and forms
- prepares and submits purchase orders
- receives and distributes incoming supply shipments
- performs public relations
- provides information and answers questions
- develops brochures, flyers, newsletters, calendars and news releases
- promotes activities to civic groups, community organizations, schools, and the public
- prepares and makes presentations regarding services and activities
- communicates with department administration, county employees, sports associations, the public, and other organizations
- participates in committees
- attends meetings
- provides input regarding facility and program activities
- performs other related duties as assigned
