Job Qualifications

- ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships
- knowledge of activity or event planning practices and techniques
- knowledge of management or supervision principles and strong leadership skills
- knowledge of record maintenance
- skill in organizing and executing activities and events
- skill in teaching and instructing youth, adults and families
- ability to organize work, set priorities, meet deadlines and follow up with minimal supervision
Job Duties
- Plan, organize and facilitate recreation camps and programs for various age groups and special needs populations
- lead participants in recreational activities and assist with event planning and organization
- promote recreational activities and provide information to the public
- maintain event and program records, files and attendance
- develop promotions and publicity materials for programs
- facilitate agreements with outside agencies for facility use
- coordinate with Town Departments for consultation and programming necessities
- purchase and order equipment and supplies
- respond to customer service and safety issues
- complete administrative paperwork including reports and timesheets
- implement department policies and supervise daily activities of staff
- manage development and maintenance of instructor and program documents
