Job Requirements
- Sixteen years of age or older at date of hire
- One to two years of paid experience in a recreation program-type setting depending on level
- Valid tuberculosis certificate
- May be required to possess and maintain a valid California Driver License with a safe driving record
- Possess and maintain valid First Aid and CPR/AED certification within 12 months of hire
- Pass pre-employment drug test
- Pass employment background check including Department of Justice criminal records check
- Prefer non-tobacco user
- Ability to communicate in English
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred but not required
Job Qualifications
- For Recreation Leader II: sixteen years of age or older at date of hire
- one year of paid experience in a recreation program setting
- experience supervising children, teens, adults, or seniors preferred

- For Recreation Leader III: high school diploma or equivalent
- two years of paid experience in a recreation program setting

- Ability to pass state and background checks
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred but not required
Job Duties
- Plan, lead, and assist with recreational and social activities for community members of all ages
- Ensure program areas are clean, safe, and equipment is maintained properly
- Provide front-line customer service including class registration and facility reservation
- Participate in staff meetings and training sessions to enhance program delivery
- Administer basic first aid and operate City vehicles as assigned
- Support additional program needs such as issuing and collecting equipment and setting up or breaking down activity areas
- Record participation and attendance accurately
