Job Requirements
- possession of valid certifications required for specific assignments
- ability to swim 20 laps for aquatic roles
- excellent customer service skills
- commitment to safety and vigilance
- ability to collaborate effectively within a team
- dependable attendance and punctuality
- valid california driver’s license may be required for some assignments
Job Qualifications
- high school diploma or equivalent
- one year experience as a recreation leader for supervisory roles
- current certification or willingness to obtain CPR, First Aid, and AED
- basic understanding of youth sports rules
- experience working with youth in group settings
- american red cross lifeguard training, first aid and cpr certification for aquatic assignments
Job Duties
- Assist in the preparation of city events
- perform light custodial duties
- set up, take down and transport equipment for events
- maintain records and scores for various youth and adult sports activities
- supervise athletic fields during activities
- officiate youth basketball and football games
- assist in supervision of recreation programs
- supervise lifeguards and enforce aquatic safety rules
