Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or equivalent
  • one to two years of experience in customer service role or recreation setting with direct contact with adults and children
  • driver’s license valid in the Commonwealth of Virginia

  • strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • knowledge of safety procedures
  • ability to work under supervision
  • willingness to attend mandatory training
  • valid driver’s license in the Commonwealth of Virginia

Job Duties

  • perform tasks to assist in implementation of recreation programs
  • supervise special events, youth and adult sports, before and after school programs, senior programs, spring break camps and summer camps
  • ensure safety of all program participants
  • apply disciplinary actions per guidelines
  • set up and break down equipment for programs
  • complete paperwork including incident and accident reports
  • attend mandatory trainings
  • supervise participants during program activities
  • keep utilized areas clean and free of clutter
  • assist in other activities or programs within the department
  • observe safety and health policies
  • perform other assigned duties
