Job Description

The City of Lathrop Recreation Leader position is an exciting part-time opportunity within the Facilities Division of the City's Recreation Department. Lathrop, incorporated in 1989, is a vibrant city located in the Northern San Joaquin Valley of California. Positioned near major highways including Interstate 5, Interstate 205, and State Route 120, Lathrop enjoys excellent connectivity to major cities and natural attractions such as San Francisco, Sacramento, and the Sierra Nevada Mountains. Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or equivalent
  • minimum one year experience in recreation program implementation
  • ability to perform moderately physically demanding work
  • capability to lift and carry up to 100 pounds with proper technique
  • willingness to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends
  • must be able to work in various weather conditions
  • ability to handle public inquiries and maintain safety protocols

Job Qualifications

  • high school diploma or equivalent
  • one year of experience implementing recreation programs or events
  • ability to assist customer inquiries and resolve facility related issues
  • strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • capability to perform physically demanding tasks
  • ability to work flexible hours including nights and weekends

Job Duties

  • assist in conducting various recreational and educational activities
  • monitor events and classes including youth, teen, senior, and adult programs
  • provide administrative support and customer service at city facilities
  • perform light custodial duties such as sweeping and restocking restrooms
  • open, close, and secure facilities ensuring safety and compliance
  • set up equipment and supplies for programs and activities
  • complete inventory and facility cleaning checklists
