Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Experience in recreational programming or related field
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to interact effectively with diverse age groups
  • Ability to operate a computer and cash register
  • Ability to enforce rules and maintain order
  • Ability to drive a city vehicle as assigned
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test and background check

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Experience in recreational programming or related field
  • Knowledge of social services, leisure activities, and sports including eSports
  • Proficiency with modern office software and recreational data systems
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively
  • Experience supervising and training staff or volunteers
  • Ability to organize and evaluate recreational programs
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Knowledge of safety standards and practices
  • Valid driver's license

Job Duties

  • Coordinates and implements various recreational and community-oriented programs, activities, trips, and special events
  • Gathers information to identify needs and trends for new programs
  • Evaluates activities, programs and classes for content and effectiveness
  • Monitors facilities for function, safety and equipment issues
  • Participates in front desk operations including registration and cash handling
  • Enforces facility, department and city rules and regulations
  • Assists in preparing marketing materials and displays
  • Administers various types of leagues including participant sign-ups and scheduling
  • Assists with selecting and supervising volunteers
  • Maintains inventory of supplies and equipment
  • Maintains documentation and prepares reports
  • Responds to inquiries and complaints
  • Supervises seasonal and hourly employees, instructors and volunteers
  • Participates in recruiting, training and evaluating staff
  • Ensures staff adheres to policies, procedures and standards
  • Assists with scheduling hourly staff to maintain appropriate staff to participant ratios
  • Performs safety and health related cleaning and maintenance
  • Opens and closes facilities
  • May provide instruction or run classes and activities
  • Performs related duties as required
