Job Requirements

  • Employment contingent upon passing a criminal background check and child and vulnerable adult abuse records check
  • Verification of ability to work in the United States by date of hire
  • Valid Washington State driver's license and good driving record
  • Submit a three-year driving abstract prior to hire
  • Must possess or obtain First Aid, CPR/AED, and Bloodborne Pathogens certification within one month of hire and maintain employment
  • Flexible availability including weekends, early mornings and/or evenings
  • Physical ability to lift and carry up to 50lbs
  • Ability to work in various indoor and outdoor environments
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum six months experience preparing, teaching and leading recreation activities
  • Demonstrated leadership skills
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Experience working with people of all ages and abilities preferred
  • Knowledge of safety and outdoor skills preferred

Job Duties

  • Participate in planning, promoting, implementing, leading and instructing recreation programs and activities
  • Ensure a safe environment for all participants and staff by enforcing policies, procedures and regulations
  • Procure supplies for assigned classes and maintain program statistics
  • Staff assigned facilities during public and rental periods and monitor activity
  • Perform setup and takedown of activities, supplies, and equipment
  • Assist in training, scheduling, leading and evaluating lower classified staff
  • Provide support for special events and programs
