Job Requirements
- Employment contingent upon passing a criminal background check and child and vulnerable adult abuse records check
- Verification of ability to work in the United States by date of hire
- Valid Washington State driver's license and good driving record
- Submit a three-year driving abstract prior to hire
- Must possess or obtain First Aid, CPR/AED, and Bloodborne Pathogens certification within one month of hire and maintain employment
- Flexible availability including weekends, early mornings and/or evenings
- Physical ability to lift and carry up to 50lbs
- Ability to work in various indoor and outdoor environments
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
Job Qualifications
- Minimum six months experience preparing, teaching and leading recreation activities
- Demonstrated leadership skills
- High school diploma or GED
- Experience working with people of all ages and abilities preferred
- Knowledge of safety and outdoor skills preferred
Job Duties
- Participate in planning, promoting, implementing, leading and instructing recreation programs and activities
- Ensure a safe environment for all participants and staff by enforcing policies, procedures and regulations
- Procure supplies for assigned classes and maintain program statistics
- Staff assigned facilities during public and rental periods and monitor activity
- Perform setup and takedown of activities, supplies, and equipment
- Assist in training, scheduling, leading and evaluating lower classified staff
- Provide support for special events and programs
