Job Requirements

  • 16 years and older
  • High school graduation preferred
  • Part-time or seasonal work with a recreation agency preferred
  • Valid and unrestricted driver’s license preferred
  • First Aid, CPR, AED certification required within one year of hire
  • Ability to work weekends, evenings, and holidays
  • Reliable and punctual
  • Ability to communicate effectively
  • Ability to perform routine maintenance and custodial work
  • Ability to operate equipment and handle cash
  • Ability to drive District vehicles safely
  • Ability to follow District policies and procedures
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Job Qualifications

  • High school graduation preferred
  • Part-time or seasonal work with a recreation agency preferred
  • General knowledge of recreation principles and philosophy
  • Basic knowledge of customer service, recreation, sports, and fitness
  • Ability to operate equipment for rentals and high-volume usage
  • Bilingual English and Spanish speaking desirable
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as assigned
  • Reliable, dependable, and prompt
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to take initiative and responsibility
  • Ability to perform duties with minimal supervision

Job Duties

  • Monitor and assist with the operation of the facility, programs, and events
  • Open and close the facility before and after rentals
  • Set up and take down tables, chairs, and equipment
  • Supervise rental groups to ensure compliance with rules
  • Ensure safety of patrons during facility operation
  • Demonstrate good customer service in communicating with rental groups and patrons
  • Receive payment for admission or parking fees
  • Open cash station, balance funds, and prepare daily reports
  • Enforce facility use rules and District policies
  • Assist with planning and implementation of programs and special events
  • Maintain inventory of supplies and materials
  • Clean and maintain work areas and equipment
  • Conduct safety inspections and document deficiencies
  • Assist in preparation and maintenance of reports and records
  • Drive District vehicles to transport equipment
  • Perform custodial maintenance and routine facility upkeep
  • Contact emergency personnel as needed
  • Attend department and District meetings and training
  • Participate in safety programs and training
  • Assist staff and volunteers in their duties
  • Perform other duties assigned by the supervisor to support the Recreation Department or District
