Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • minimum of two years experience in event planning, coordination, or related field
  • ability to work occasional evenings and weekends
  • valid driver’s license
  • ability to lift and carry up to 20 pounds
  • effective verbal and written communication skills
  • ability to use computers and relevant software
  • ability to work independently and as part of a team

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • experience in event planning and coordination
  • knowledge of safety and environmental regulations
  • proficiency in business and personal computer applications
  • strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • ability to manage multiple tasks and projects
  • experience supervising personnel and volunteers
  • familiarity with record keeping and data analysis
  • ability to prepare formal reports and presentations
  • understanding of city policies and procedures

Job Duties

  • Organizes, promotes, and evaluates events to ensure participant safety and satisfaction
  • oversees the use and condition of event venues, equipment, and materials
  • identifies and reports maintenance needs
  • develops and recommends new event programs to increase participation
  • schedules, coaches, and manages event staff and volunteers
  • prepares and submits reports including incident and personnel documentation
  • manages procurement activities in compliance with policies
  • reviews and updates records to maintain data integrity
  • evaluates event programs to improve operations and customer service
  • researches and analyzes data to recommend solutions
  • meets with staff to review progress and resolve issues
  • ensures compliance with safety and operational policies
  • manages event projects and staff performance
  • promotes positive community relations and coordinates with other agencies
  • responds to and resolves complaints and issues related to events
