Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations, Recreation, Business or Public Administration, or related field
  • Minimum two years of relevant experience in public relations, community relations, or recreational programming
  • Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record per City policies
  • Ability to lift and carry files and reports
  • Effective verbal communication and listening skills
  • Ability to work occasional extended hours
  • Compliance with drug testing as per regulations
  • Regular attendance to ensure continuity of services

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations, Recreation, Business or Public Administration, or related field
  • Minimum two years of experience in public relations, community relations, or recreational programming
  • Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record
  • Knowledge of event planning, public relations, record keeping, and safety practices
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
  • Skilled in data analysis, report preparation, and interpersonal communication
  • Proficient with business and personal computer software applications

Job Duties

  • Organizes, promotes, and evaluates events to ensure participant safety and satisfaction
  • Oversees the use and condition of event venues, equipment, and materials
  • Develops and recommends new event programs to expand participation
  • Schedules, coaches, and supervises event staff and volunteers
  • Manages facility safety and maintenance for event programming
  • Prepares and presents reports including incident documentation
  • Oversees procurement activities for event supplies and equipment
  • Maintains accurate records and updates data systems
  • Evaluates event operations to improve efficiency and effectiveness
  • Coordinates with other departments and community agencies
  • Responds to and resolves complaints and issues related to events
