Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalency
  • Some work experience in building custodial or preventative maintenance
  • Valid North Carolina Driver's License
  • Ability to perform medium physical exertion tasks
  • Capability to work in varying indoor and outdoor conditions
  • Strong attention to detail and safety awareness
  • Ability to operate motor vehicles to travel between sites

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED equivalency
  • Some experience in building custodial and/or preventative maintenance work
  • Knowledge of cleaning practices, supplies, and equipment
  • Ability to perform minor plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and mechanical repairs
  • Skilled in operating floor care equipment
  • Ability to follow instructions and report maintenance needs
  • Strong interpersonal skills

Job Duties

  • Opens and secures facility doors, sets or resets security alarms, locks buildings after business hours
  • Dusts, mops, vacuums, sweeps, waxes, and buffs floors
  • Empties garbage cans, cleans windows, doors, glass fixtures, and restrooms, restocks supplies
  • Documents and reports safety issues or maintenance needs to supervisor
  • Uses and maintains power equipment and hand tools for cleaning and maintenance
  • Assembles and disassembles event equipment, supports staff during special events
  • Performs routine maintenance tasks such as changing filters and replacing light bulbs
