Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in recreation management, physical education, or related field
- minimum of three years of experience in aquatic and athletic program management or equivalent
- proficiency with recreation management and registration software
- strong organizational and multitasking abilities
- excellent oral and written communication skills
- ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends
- knowledge of state and federal regulations related to aquatic and athletic programs
- ability to lift moderate weights and perform duties requiring physical activity
- valid driver's license
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Recreation Management, Physical Education, or related field
- experience in aquatic and athletic program administration
- knowledge of public recreation principles and practices
- familiarity with budget preparation and fiscal management
- experience in marketing and community outreach
- strong communication and interpersonal skills
- proficiency in computer software including Microsoft Office suite and recreation management systems
- ability to supervise, train and evaluate staff
- knowledge of federal and state aquatic regulations
- experience in event planning and coordination
- ability to maintain effective records and reporting systems

Job Duties
- Administers assigned recreation programs and facilities to achieve goals within available resources
- assists in the preparation of the annual budget for various recreation programs and facilities
- monitors revenues and expenditures to assure sound fiscal control and efficient use of budgeted funds, personnel and other resources
- provides recommendations for program and facility fee revisions
- develops partnerships and marketing strategies to enhance programs, facilities and services
- prepares and distributes marketing tools including brochures, posters, flyers, and media releases
- makes presentations to business groups, community organizations and the general public
- administers aquatic and athletic recreational programs including registrations, scheduling swim lessons and swim team practices and meets
- coordinates public swim programs including facility maintenance, aquatic personnel, cash handling and concession operations
- determines staffing needs
- receives and resolves customer feedback
- creates schedules and adjusts leagues to enhance parity
- purchases awards, equipment and supplies
- administers tournaments and resolves disciplinary issues
- coordinates concession stands including training staff and inventory management
- assists with hiring, training, scheduling and evaluating seasonal staff
- coordinates registration, schedules, rules, policies and procedures
- ensures compliance with regulations and guidelines
- assists in developing and standardizing policies and procedures
- coordinates program trainings on various topics
- orders and maintains inventories
- administers contracts and schedules for facilities and officials
- assists with grant research and administration
- coordinates fundraising and sponsorship activities
- responds to public inquiries and makes public presentations
- assists with planning and development of long-range department goals
- attends professional development workshops
- serves on committees
- assists community groups with special event permits
- prepares permit and reservation paperwork
- performs other related duties as assigned
