Job Requirements
- Valid Colorado driver’s license with clear or acceptable motor vehicle record
- associate degree
- minimum 2 years experience in recreation program development including budgeting and supervision
- experience working with older adults preferred
- strong leadership and interpersonal skills
- strong administrative skills
- excellent organizational and time management abilities
- proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- preferred experience in RecTrac software
- CPR and First Aid certification or willingness to obtain
- ability to lift and move equipment up to 50 pounds
- ability to stand, walk, and participate actively in activities for extended periods
- ability to bend down and secure mobility devices like scooters and wheelchairs
- basic skills for program and event set-up and takedown
- willingness to work in various weather conditions
- comfortable driving a 14-passenger bus with wheelchair lift with training
- willingness to operate a 14-passenger bus with wheelchair lift
Job Qualifications
- Associate degree
- bachelor’s degree in recreation administration or related field preferred
- minimum of 2 years experience in recreation program development including budgeting and supervision
- experience working with older adults preferred
- valid Colorado driver’s license with clear or acceptable motor vehicle record

- strong administrative skills for evaluating facility and programs
- excellent organizational and time management abilities
- proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

Job Duties
- Design, implement, and evaluate excursions, dining adventures, hikes, and special event programs targeting the 55+ age range
- manage revenue and expenses to align with departmental strategic and fiscal goals
- research hike difficulty levels to ensure patron comfort and ability
- maintain communication and secure permits with the US Forest Service and other agencies
- meet deadlines for USFS permit reporting
- develop and monitor program budgets
- maintain financial control and accountability
- support recreation software system and work with Process Improvement Specialist
- initiate creative changes to address public needs
- assist marketing team to increase facility and program participation
- research and recommend equipment and supplies purchase
- ensure programs are inclusive and accessible
- develop effective relationships with volunteers and community groups
- recruit, train, and supervise part-time staff and volunteers
- make significant personnel decisions including hiring and termination
- create staff schedules and ensure program coverage
- conduct staff check-ins and professional development
- collaborate on facility room maintenance and event scheduling
- ensure equipment safety and maintenance
- coordinate maintenance and fleet service responses
- foster community partnerships
- act as liaison between patrons and Recreation Center
- address participant concerns professionally
- manage program budgets including purchasing and payment schedules
- coordinate with vendors and excursion agencies
- communicate excursion details to patrons
- maintain communication with drivers and prepare schedules
- maintain program records and incident reports
- prepare reports for Senior Services Manager
- ensure staff compliance with driving and safety certifications
- research and decide on hike difficulty related to patron ability and comfort
