Job Requirements
- Valid Washington driver’s license with acceptable driving record
- Minimum age of 18 years
- Obtain valid first aid and CPR certification within six months of employment
- Combination of education and experience equating to six years relevant experience
- Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends
- Ability to work independently and in a collaborative team environment
- Commitment to workplace safety protocols
- Ability to travel to various program locations
- Effective organizational and multitasking skills
- Professional verbal and written communication skills
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in recreation or related field
- Two years of experience developing and implementing recreation programs
- Knowledge of recreational program and event administration
- Experience with budgeting and fiscal management
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to lead and evaluate staff and volunteers
- Proficiency with modern office equipment and software
- Ability to plan and promote diverse programs
- Competency in handling emergency situations
- Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion principles
Job Duties
- Maintain regular, reliable, and punctual attendance
- Develop and monitor program and event budgets
- Coordinate and implement community outreach and marketing efforts
- Foster a culture of equity and inclusion
- Provide clerical support, register participants, and respond to inquiries
- Assess program needs and develop objectives and curriculum
- Coordinate City sponsored programs and special events
- Champion workplace safety and administer first aid
- Direct and train program staff, instructors, and volunteers
- Conduct staff meetings and ensure recruitment
