Job Requirements

  • Valid Washington driver’s license with acceptable driving record
  • Minimum age of 18 years
  • Obtain valid first aid and CPR certification within six months of employment
  • Combination of education and experience equating to six years relevant experience
  • Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends
  • Ability to work independently and in a collaborative team environment
  • Commitment to workplace safety protocols
  • Ability to travel to various program locations
  • Effective organizational and multitasking skills
  • Professional verbal and written communication skills

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in recreation or related field
  • Two years of experience developing and implementing recreation programs
  • Knowledge of recreational program and event administration
  • Experience with budgeting and fiscal management
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to lead and evaluate staff and volunteers
  • Proficiency with modern office equipment and software
  • Ability to plan and promote diverse programs
  • Competency in handling emergency situations
  • Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion principles

Job Duties

  • Maintain regular, reliable, and punctual attendance
  • Develop and monitor program and event budgets
  • Coordinate and implement community outreach and marketing efforts
  • Foster a culture of equity and inclusion
  • Provide clerical support, register participants, and respond to inquiries
  • Assess program needs and develop objectives and curriculum
  • Coordinate City sponsored programs and special events
  • Champion workplace safety and administer first aid
  • Direct and train program staff, instructors, and volunteers
  • Conduct staff meetings and ensure recruitment
