Job Description

The Town is seeking an experienced Recreation Coordinator for Outdoor Programs to join its dynamic recreation operations team. Job Requirements

  • Possess and maintain a valid Colorado Driver's License and safe driving record
  • Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree in recreation management, leisure services, physical education or closely related field
  • At least two years of experience in recreation programming and facility oversight or any equivalent combination of education, experience and training that provides evidence that the applicant possesses the necessary qualifications
  • First Aid and CPR certifications required

  • At least two years of experience in recreation programming and facility oversight or equivalent combination of education, experience and training
  • Experience hiring and working with independent recreation program contractors
  • Extensive knowledge of recreation disciplines, including fitness, sports, outdoor and enrichment programming
  • Experience working with recreation software
  • Knowledge of outdoor facility operation and oversight
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely verbally and in writing
  • Ability to positively interact with the general public, contractors, governmental entities, and other professional clientele
  • Ability to coordinate a variety of programs and activities and to work effectively with other staff
  • Ability to understand and successfully implement Town policies, procedures, laws and regulations relating to assigned programs and activities

Job Duties

  • Specialize in the administration and oversight of the Town's recreation programs using the Town's recreation software
  • Coordinate program and park, pavilion and athletic field operations which include program planning, development, implementation, evaluation, maintenance operations, and occasional on-site supervision
  • Oversee and manage contractual agreements with independent program contractors and user groups of Town parks, pavilions, athletic fields and courts
  • Maintain records and compile reports related to the Town's recreation programs and facilities
  • Research and coordinate partnership opportunities with community schools, volunteer groups, local businesses and organizations, and surrounding communities
  • Monitor and purchase supplies as needed
  • Handle customer concerns promptly and provide intervention in conflicts with tact and diplomacy, and take corrective action as needed
