Job Requirements

  • Graduation from high school or GED equivalent
  • Participation in HR GED Program and successful completion of Arizona state-certified exam for enrolled community members without GED
  • Two years experience in coordinating and/or event planning
  • Food Handler, CPR, and First Aid certifications required within six months of hire
  • Must possess and maintain a valid Arizona Driver's License
  • Ability to work after hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Ability to work in various weather conditions
  • Ability to stand or walk for extended periods
  • Must pass extensive background check including fingerprinting
  • No prior convictions involving children or elders

Job Qualifications

  • Graduation from high school or GED equivalent
  • Two years of experience in coordinating and/or event planning
  • Associate's Degree preferred in hospitality management, marketing, public relations, parks and recreation or related field
  • One year of full-time recreation-related work with a senior population preferred
  • Ability to speak Pima or Maricopa language preferred
  • Food Handler, CPR and First Aid certifications required within six months of hire
  • Knowledge of SRPMIC culture and government
  • Skill in organizing and promoting public events
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing

Job Duties

  • Plan, organize, and coordinate senior and adult adaptive needs recreational events and activities
  • Assist with pre and post event logistics including catering, entertainment, transportation, security, and equipment
  • Collaborate with internal departments and external partners to ensure compliance and event success
  • Maintain event calendars and promotional materials to increase program participation
  • Provide administrative and financial reporting support including vendor invoice management
  • Coordinate meeting schedules, prepare agendas, and organize meeting logistics
  • Serve as primary contact for community inquiries and represent Senior Services at event meetings
