Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Recreation, Business, Public Administration, Sports Management, or a related field preferred
- One year of experience in recreation programming or customer service for Coordinator I
- Two years of experience in recreation programming and event coordination for Coordinator II
- One year of supervisory experience required for Coordinator II
- Ability to work Tuesday through Saturday with weekend and evening availability
- Ability to perform physical tasks associated with event setup and supervision
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to policies
- Capacity to work on-site and interact with the community
- Familiarity with ADA requirements in recreation settings
- Willingness to assist with front desk coverage and administrative duties
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Recreation, Business, Public Administration, Sports Management, or a related field preferred
- Experience in recreation programming, event coordination, or customer service required
- Lead or supervisory experience preferred for Coordinator II
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to develop and implement recreation programs
- Knowledge of ADA requirements related to recreation facilities
- Ability to handle multiple administrative tasks and set priorities
- Proficiency with office and sports equipment
- Ability to work evenings, weekends, and varied schedules
- Demonstrated initiative and independent judgment for Coordinator II
Job Duties
- Plans and coordinates community and recreation programs and special events for all age groups
- Provides on-site program delivery and event support including set-up and tear-down
- Assists with event logistics such as vendor coordination, scheduling, and permits
- Supports recruitment, scheduling, and coordination of volunteers and staff
- Tracks registrations, revenues, and expenses while monitoring budgets
- Monitors safety, compliance, and service quality during programs and events
- Responds to public inquiries and resolves participant or operational issues
- Maintains records and documentation for programs and events
- Assists with marketing, communications, and front desk coverage as needed
