Job Description

Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or equivalent
  • previous experience in recreation or customer service preferred
  • ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing
  • capability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends
  • physical ability to perform duties including lifting and outdoor work
  • proficiency with basic computer software including microsoft word and excel
  • willingness to follow safety protocols and procedures

Job Qualifications

  • high school diploma or equivalent
  • experience in recreation or customer service preferred
  • proficiency with microsoft office applications
  • ability to work both indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions
  • strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently
  • basic knowledge of safety and maintenance procedures
  • experience with social media content creation is a plus
  • ability to work independently and as part of a team

Job Duties

  • attends to the daily operation of facilities and programs including opening and closing duties and directing recreation assistants when necessary
  • assists with various recreation programs, hospitality, concessions, leagues and community events
  • assists with program registrations including periods of intensive computer processing with custom registration system
  • assists with program and event set up, tear down and implementation including working both inside and outside in various locations and conditions
  • provides excellent customer service by responding to customers’ questions and needs in a timely manner
  • performs and oversees the general maintenance and housekeeping duties in parks and recreation department facilities and/or school district facilities
  • ensures the safety of all spectators and participants in programs and facilities and adheres to safety protocols
  • completes various reports and submits them to the appropriate supervisor
  • performs related duties as directed that are logical and appropriate assignments
  • interacts professionally and respectfully with the public, coworkers, volunteers, customers, and vendors
  • composes content for social media and webpages in community events assignment
  • assists with volunteer program and event set up, tear down and implementation
  • attends to daily operational and facility needs for community events and arts and events center
  • runs errands and completes tasks with minimal supervision
  • assists with creating and planning events and educational classes
  • works with programs including microsoft word, excel and canva to maintain database and promote opportunities
  • assists in programming, implementation and promotion of community events
  • plans marketing strategies for community events and classes
