Job Description
The City of Grapevine, Texas, is seeking a dedicated part-time Recreation Coordinator Assistant II to join its Parks and Recreation Department. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED and 18 years of age or two years full-time equivalent experience as RCA I
- physical ability to perform job tasks and work outdoors
- obtain or possess CPR certification upon hire
- pass Federal/National criminal background check
- valid Texas driver’s license with acceptable driving record
- pass pre-employment drug screen
- availability to work nights, weekends, and some holidays
- for hospitality roles must obtain Food Handlers certification within three months
- general knowledge of concession and food preparation
- ability to operate cash register
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- two years full-time equivalent experience as a Recreation Coordinator Assistant I
- ability to use a calculator and perform basic math
- proficiency in operating computers, iPads, and smartphones
- ability to perform cash handling duties and understand proper procedures
- good written and oral communication skills
- ability to work with staff, volunteers, youth, vendors, and customers in a fast-paced environment
- physical ability to work outdoors, lift up to 40 pounds, and set up equipment
- CPR certification or ability to obtain upon hire
- valid Texas driver’s license with acceptable driving record
Job Duties
- Attend to the daily operation of facilities and programs including opening and closing duties and direct RCA I when necessary
- assist with various recreation programs, hospitality/concessions, leagues and community events
- assist with program registrations, including intensive computer processing with custom registration system
- assist with program and event setup, tear down and implementation in various locations and conditions
- provide excellent customer service by responding to customer questions and needs in a timely manner
- perform and oversee general maintenance and housekeeping duties in Parks and Recreation Department facilities and/or school district facilities
- ensure safety of all spectators and participants and adherence to safety protocols
- complete various reports and submit to appropriate supervisor
- perform related duties as directed
- interact professionally and respectfully with the public, coworkers, volunteers, customers, and vendors
