Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in parks and recreation administration, therapeutic recreation, or a closely related degree
  • Three years of progressively responsible experience in the supervision, operation, and management of recreation facilities and programs or any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities
  • Possession of a Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS) designation or ability to obtain within six months of hiring

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Maintains accurate records of program revenues, attendance and operating costs
  • Oversees the development, scheduling and implementation of recreation programs
  • Manages and develops events, tournaments, and special projects as assigned
  • Works with associated divisions and departments to promote and advertise programs and events
  • Develops and updates recreation facility rules, policies and procedure and publishes associated materials and manuals
  • Regularly evaluate fees for fee-based programs and provide recommendations for adjustments through program planning and cost recovery processes
  • Responsible for adding programs into recreation registration software and program guide
