Job Requirements
- high school graduate or equivalent
- meet state and federal regulations as applicable
- able to relate professionally, positively, and cooperatively with residents and employees
- maintain regular attendance
- available to work friday through tuesday 8:30 am to 5:00 pm, wednesdays and thursdays off
- meet all local health regulations
- pass post-offer drug test
- pass post-employment physical exam if required
- capable of performing essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation
Job Qualifications
- high school graduate or equivalent
- experience in recreational program planning or related field preferred
- ability to relate professionally and positively with residents and staff
- knowledge of state and federal regulations related to activities in healthcare settings
- strong organizational and communication skills
- ability to manage multiple tasks and work collaboratively
- understanding of resident care planning and family involvement
- proficiency in maintaining documentation and records
- capacity to assist with staff development and training
- knowledge of safety procedures and infection control
- ability to work rotating shifts including weekends and holidays
Job Duties
- Assist the recreation manager to plan, organize, and direct activity programs
- assume authority in the absence of the activities director
- assist with organization and coordination of special outings
- collaborate with all departments to promote resident care
- attend scheduled meetings
- maintain knowledge of facility policies and applicable regulations
- participate in community planning and implement consultants’ recommendations
- review complaints and grievances and report actions
- recommend department equipment and supply needs
- participate in staff recruitment and staffing planning
- ensure appropriate activity programs are provided
- contact and work with residents’ relatives
- encourage resident and family participation in care plans
- refer concerns to social services as needed
- attend and assist with staff training and in-service education
- maintain activity-related records and complete required reports
- comply with safety policies and regulations
- assist in patient evacuation during emergencies
- promote residents’ rights and positive relationships
- adhere to code of conduct and business ethics
- participate in quality improvement activities
- perform other duties as assigned
