Job Requirements

  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • willingness to work outdoors in varied weather conditions
  • pass a pre-employment drug screen, background check, and driving history check
  • compliance with SBI fingerprinting criminal history record check
  • complete and accurate 10-year employment and education history in application
  • reliable transportation to and from work location

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • prior experience interacting with the public in a museum or similar setting preferred
  • knowledge or awareness of community programs and events in Fayetteville/Cumberland County
  • general knowledge of the history of Fayetteville/Cumberland County
  • strong communication and interpersonal skills

Job Duties

  • Greet visitors as they enter the museum
  • help organize and assist with museum programs, city market, and services at assigned facilities when needed
  • enforce museum rules and regulations as it relates to safety and procedure
  • help prepare, setup and disassemble appropriate materials and equipment for activities
  • answer questions and provide information to the public concerning museum and recreation center programs
