The hiring organization is a government entity that operates within the Morale, Welfare, and Recreation (MWR) community recreation program. Job Requirements
- Six months or more of general experience
- six months or more of specialized experience related to recreation and marina operations
- ability to operate a motor vehicle
- males must be registered or exempt from Selective Service
- selectee must be suitable for federal employment
- must participate in direct deposit pay program
- social security card required
- satisfactorily complete E-VERIFY check
- favorable background check
- ability to communicate effectively
- ability to operate office machines
- ability to work independently
- complete probationary period if required
Job Qualifications
- Knowledge of goals, philosophy, principles, and methods used in organizing, planning, administrating, and conducting facility operations
- knowledge of State and Federal Guidelines concerning Marina Operations
- knowledge of daily operations of the facility to answer patron questions
- knowledge of routines and procedures in group activities or recreation and marina programs
- knowledge of recreational activities, equipment, rules and procedures
- knowledge of boating terminology, watercraft operation and maintenance, water and boating safety, boat handling, boating equipment and facilities, and recreational boating activities
- ability to operate a motor vehicle
- ability to follow instructions, present options, and recommend solutions
- ability to work independently and demonstrate excellent customer service
- ability to operate office machines including cash registers and computers
- ability to perform basic word processing and spreadsheet tasks using Microsoft and site-specific software
- ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
- six months general experience and six months specialized experience
Job Duties
- Perform a variety of duties supporting MWR community recreation programs
- assist in organizing and conducting special events, trips, tours, and outings
- manage rental equipment for parties and picnics
- provide resale tickets and recreational green space management
- support bowling, library, Liberty, grab-n-go programs, movies, and outdoor recreation activities
- respond to inquiries from patrons, providing accurate information about facility operations and recreational activities
