The positions available are embedded within the Morale, Welfare and Recreation (MWR) Departments onboard Naval Air Station, Corpus Christi, TX. Job Requirements
- 6 months or more of general experience and 6 months or more of specialized experience
- or successful completion of 2 years of study including at least 12 semester hours in courses related to recreation
- or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience
- males must be registered or exempt from Selective Service
- selectee must be suitable for federal employment
- may be required to complete a probationary period
- required to participate in direct deposit pay program
- social Security Card required
- satisfactorily complete employment verification (E-VERIFY)
- comply with REAL ID Act requirements for facility access
- favorable background check
- ability to operate a motor vehicle
- ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing
Job Qualifications
- 6 months or more of general experience and 6 months or more of specialized experience
- knowledge of goals, philosophy, principles, and methods of organizing, planning, administrating and conducting facility operations
- knowledge of State and Federal Guidelines concerning Marina Operations
- knowledge of daily operations of the facility to answer patron questions
- knowledge of procedures in group activities or programs for recreation or marina operations
- knowledge of recreational activities, equipment, rules and procedures
- knowledge of boating terminology, watercraft operation and maintenance, water and boating safety, handling of boats, boating equipment, and facilities
- ability to operate a motor vehicle
- ability to follow instructions, present options and recommend solutions
- ability to work independently
- excellent customer service techniques
- ability to operate office machines including cash registers and computers
- ability to perform basic word processing and spreadsheet tasks using Microsoft and site-specific software
- ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
Job Duties
- perform a variety of duties in support of MWR including special events
- provide recreation information and resources
- coordinate command and community events
- support visiting ships or fleet operations
- organize tours and outings
- manage party and picnic rental equipment
- maintain recreational green spaces and oversee outdoor recreation activities
